WRITING

I began writing at age 7. My earliest plays – often inspired by Saved by the Bell and Harry Potter – were pieces I wrote, directed, and performed myself. By 13, my writing had turned toward deeper human themes; I was crafting monologues about domestic violence, grief, and the emotional aftermath of losing a brother in the First World War.

Throughout my teenage years, my work became increasingly philosophical as I found myself drawn to the big questions: Who are we? Why are we here? Where do we come from? And where are we going?

At 17, this inquiry culminated in winning First Prize in the Dutch National Youth Theatre Contest for a piece I wrote, directed, and performed. At 18, I moved to London, where I further honed my voice as a writer while training as an actor-creator at Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company. There, I co-devised original theatre through a blend of improv, collaborative story-building, and ensemble authorship.

When I moved to New York City, I expanded into nonfiction, writing for Natural Awakenings magazine and Elephant Journal, and continued crafting original theatrical pieces for the Conscious Performers Collective, the nonprofit theatre company I founded. I also began writing and producing inspirational video content – an early expression of my desire to merge creativity with consciousness.

I later joined streaming network Gaia, where I wrote, produced, narrated, and developed twelve original series (including its most successful to date).

Today, through Lila Studios, I focus primarily on screenwriting – my greatest literary love – while developing narrative and documentary projects that explore spirituality, identity, evolution, belonging, and the mythic dimensions of the human experience.

“Sometimes the only way forward is back”

When a woman – reeling from the death of her mother and an unexpected pregnancy – returns to her ancestral homeland of Bolivia, she’s pulled into an ancient shamanic form of time travel that fractures her identity across centuries. To survive, she must heal the inherited trauma of her bloodline or be swallowed by the very legacy she’s been trying to outrun.

ECHO is a visionary independent feature exploring ancestral memory, intergenerational healing, and belonging through the mythic lens of Andean shamanism and Inca–Conquistador history.

Set between the Amazon and the high Andes, the film interweaves the Hero’s and Heroine’s Journeys to mirror the reintegration of masculine and feminine – within lineage, within culture, and within the self.

At its heart, ECHO is a story of lineage, loss, and soul retrieval, told with cinematic ambition, cultural reverence, and emotional depth. It’s a film about remembering the forgotten parts of ourselves, honouring where we come from, and choosing who we become next.

We are currently in full production financing.

My debut narrative feature screenplay, Becoming the One, has won multiple accolades, including at the Austin Film Festival, Scriptapalooza, Launch Pad Feature Competition and Screencraft Feature Competition.

Becoming the One is a powerful and engaging, at-times-hilarious, at-times-profound, coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama with magical realist elements. Set in London and the Indian Himalayas, it explores the ancient push and pull between our deepest fears and our greatest desires. It’s a love story. It’s about the love between two people. It’s about the love that most of us withhold from ourselves. It’s about the ecstasy and heartbreak of being human, of being alive, and the confusing relationship between ourselves, others, and the cosmos.

Becoming the One has a fresh and fiercely independent (female minority) voice and perspective that celebrates the rich, diverse tapestry of life, while dipping its toes into nondual Eastern philosophy, all the while maintaining grit, relatability, humour and a fearless delight in poking fun at oneself and every theory that tries to give meaning to the crazy, ineffable, equally transcendental-and-painstakingly-mundane rollercoaster ride of being human.
